The Teledyne LeCroy WaveRunner 6-Zi Series Oscilloscope
The first Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) was invented in 1985 by Dr Walter LeCroy, founder of LeCroy Corporation. LeCroy (now Teledyne LeCroy) remains one of the three largest oscilloscope manufacturers in the world.
The Teledyne LeCroy WaveRunner series 6-Zi oscilloscopes cover the frequency range of 400MHz to 4GHz, with a sampling rate of 10 to 20GS/s, standard memory of 16Mpts to 64Mpts, and 8-bit resolution. There is a wide range of options available for memory, sampling rate, serial data analysis, serial data compliance, serial trigger and decode, and more.
The WaveRunner 6-Zi oscilloscope is a "Cadillac" among oscilloscopes.
A crisp signal path delivers unmatched signal integrity with low noise.
A huge offset and timebase delay adjustment allow facile signal and amplifier performance assessment, and zooming on vertical and horizontal signal characteristics.
Serial Data Analysis is just one strength of the 6-Zi-series; over 17 trigger, decode, and compliance solutions, WaveRunner 6-Zi provides detailed views and automated testing tools.
The ProtoSync tool combines oscilloscope display with a simultaneous display of data link layer decodes on the same oscilloscope.
Another area in which the WaveRunner 6-Zi excels is in its triggering capabilities: a powerful combination of a high bandwidth edge and ten SMART triggers, four stage cascade triggering, and TriggerScan are standard with this scope.
A powerful triggering option, the measurement trigger, can be used to qualify a trigger event based upon a qualified measurement with high resolution.
A high-speed serial trigger facilitates triggering on up to 3Gb/s serial patterns of up to 80-bits in length.
A full range of serial triggers are also available: I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, Audio (I2S, LJ, RJ, TDM), CAN, LIN, FlexRay, MIL-STD-1553, SATA, 8b/10b, USB2, and many others.
When troubleshooting a circuit, you don't want to have to fiddle around with complicated oscilloscope controls and settings. The WaveRunner 6-Zi affords ease of operation with a user-friendly front panel interface strategy. The SuperKnob, a joystick-like knob in the WavePilot cockpit area allows effortless navigation through displays of tables, and zooming and positioning of waveforms.
It also makes it easy to document and annotate your settings.
Here is something not found on other oscilloscopes - the Teledyne LeCroy WaveRunner 6Zi series 90-degree rotating display.
The 12.
1 inch wide WXGA LCD display physically rotates from horizontal (landscape) to vertical (portrait) orientation. This affords optimal viewing of digital signals, jitter tracks, eye diagrams, and frequency plots.
The view automatically re-orients when the screen is rotated - like viewing photos on a smart-phone.
